Meet our staff

Before serving as the SJBA AMS, Jason spent 25 years as the campus minister of the Baptist collegiate ministry at Northwest Missouri State University (BSU/Lighthouse).  It was there that he developed a passion for disciple-making, a vision for developing leaders and a love for the local association of churches.

Jason and Karin met as students at the Northwest BSU, where they served as student leaders.  They were married in January of 1998 and have continued to be partners in ministry ever since.  They have three adult children, three grandchildren, and two miniature schnauzers.  They enjoy whatever outdoor adventures they can find on the family farm, where they now reside.  Jason is also an avid slow-pitch softball player, which he affectionately calls “adult t-ball.”

Isaac first got involved at Christian Challenge as a freshman in 2016. Isaac joined the leadership team and helped lead life groups and worship. Then, through serving and being discipled, God gave him a desire to make disciples rather than pursuing a different career. This led to him interning at Christian Challenge under Paul Damery from 2020-2024 after he finished his degree in Wildlife Management. Isaac is currently pursuing a Master’s of Divinity at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. When Paul left in the summer of 2024, Isaac assumed the role of campus missionary.

Isaac married Juliana on August 10th, 2024. While they first met at church, they really got to know each other through Christian Challenge. They both love the outdoors, coffee, and adventures. They are excited to lead many adventures and trips with the college students.

Maddisyn McKern has been a lifelong member at Frazier Baptist and has participated in associational ministries since her first year at children's camp in 2009. She attended camp every summer as a student, went on SJBA youth mission trips, and served as a life group leader at Christian Challenge. The association has played a tremendous role in Maddi's life and walk with the Lord. She loves building relationships across the association and is excited to serve the SJBA as office manager.

She met her husband, Will, at Frazier when they were in middle school. After years of friendship, they served on a spring break mission trip with Christian Challenge in March of 2020 and began dating shortly after. They've been married since November of 2021. They love to go camping, build Lego sets, and cook good food together!
